Making his debut in the 2022 SRO Touring Car America championship with TechSport Racing, Gresham Wagner started off the new campaign with a first and second place finish at Sonoma Raceway.
TechSport Racing entered a trio of new 2022 Subaru BRZ TCA’s for the season, with Wagner piloting the #21 car in the TCA class. The cars made their first competitive outing at Rounds 1 & 2 of the championship, hosted at Sonoma Raceway in California.
Wagner started the pair of races from second place, as Qualifying was annulled after two red flag periods. In Race 1, after a stuck throttle on the opening lap, Wagner held the second position for the remainder of the race, earning a podium in the first participation for the driver and car.
In Race 2, Gresham Wagner and Carter Fartuch battled early for the lead, before Wagner ultimately took over the first position and opened a multi-second gap until the checkered flag. The strong run sealed a successful opening event for the #21 TechSport Racing team, with Wagner tied for first in the Driver’s Championship, and TechSport Racing tied for the lead of the Team’s Championship.
The next event of the SRO Touring Car America championship takes place at NOLA Motorsports Park, on May 19-22.
